Abstract

Work included in the group exhibition ‘La dimensione del luogo’

The main idea is to displace nations: if we move borders, are we still able to recognise them?

This raises questions about whether, in a sense, we might all be islands, not only geographically, but also internally. The borders remain, but our ability to recognise them fades.

At first glance, it seems that states are fixed entities, but in reality, they are transforming into islands. This changes radically when we move away from our collective imaginations: our perception of the world is altered. We are faced with a profound realignment of how we see perceive things.
